Union Pacific's LPD01 Derails Due to Vandals 11-18-24!
Union Pacific's LPD01 job leaves and departs Adams Street Yard in Peoria on July 1, 2024.
I hope the judge makes an example of these two clowns!
Union Pacific's LPD01 job was either going to or returning from Collier Yard to work the Keokuk Junction Railway and Toledo, Peoria & Western Railway interchanges. Damage to the locomotive explains why Adams Street Yard and the adjacent Low Line are still full of cars.

Peoria County Incident #24-7190
(Peoria County, IL) - On Monday, November 18th, 2024, at approximately 3:00 pm, Peoria County Sheriff's Deputies were notified by the Bartonville Police Department of an incident where BPD officers had two males detained for derailing a train near the train crossing on Sanitation Rd (100 block) just outside of Bartonville. The Union Pacific Locomotive Engineer saw the males near the derailing device and called Bartonville Police. Bartonville Police located the males walking in the area and detained them and notified PCSO. Deputies and investigators responded and found through the investigation that the two males intentionally moved a derailing device that was attached to the rails and watched the train go over the device and derail from the tracks. The train's locomotive wheels went off the tracks into the gravel causing damage. The damage to the train wheels, tracks, and labor to fix is estimated to be over $80,000. A crane is needed to get the train back on the tracks. Caleb Finley (18 years old) and Jimmy Johnson (20 years old), both from Bartonville, were arrested for Criminal Damage to Property, Criminal Trespass to Property, Reckless Conduct, and Placing an Object on Railroad Tracks. They both were booked into the Peoria County Jail. No one was injured during this incident.
