Allegiant Air to Offer CIRA-Phoenix/Mesa Nonstops!
A look at Allegiant Air's schedules show that Bloomington-Normal's Central Illinois Regional Airport is getting Phoenix-Mesa nonstops on Mondays and Fridays beginning February 13, 2026.
The new service out of CIRA apparently does not appear to cannabilize Peoria's existing service. Starting February 17, PIA gets Tuesday flights in addition to Thursday, Saturday and Sunday. And business over the upcoming holiday periods requires nonstops daily from Nov. 25 to Dec. 1 and also Dec. 17-Jan. 5!

However, Peoria looks to have officially lost Nashville and Ft. Lauderdale service in 2026.
ReplyDeleteNashville is seasonal, and ends January 5, 2026. Denver, which is tied with Nashville due to the plane being on BNA-PIA-DEN and DEN-PIA-BNA routings, is being suspended after that date as well. I've heard Nashville has been weak since it began in 2020 but we'll see if it returns by spring or summer. Fort Lauderdale was spring break-only the last few years so that one was insignificant. Central Illinois travelers seem to prefer Florida's Gulf Coast anyway.
DeleteTheir schedule is posted through Aug, 2026. That tells me its not in their plans to have either return.
DeleteDenver returns on May 21. That would be odd if they resume that route without Nashville. I guess they could tie it to another city.
