Union Pacific MPECL 10-31-17
I caught Union Pacific's MPECL (Manifest, Peoria IL to Clinton IA) Tuesday afternoon after it left Adams Street Yard with UP 4084 & UP 4604 and 67 cars. Train included 22 SHQX-marked ethanol tank cars (in blocks of 18 and 4), probably coming out of storage.

Does UP have responsibility for switching any customers in the Peoria area anymore?

The weekday Peoria Wayfreight (LPD01) classifies MCLPE, builds MPECL (both twice-weekly), interchanges with KJRY, TZPR and TP&W and delivers and pulls "stragglers" (coal empties and loads, bad-ordered, released and resumed their journey in regular manifest service) from Illinois Power Holdings LLC's E. D. Edwards Station, located just south of Bartonville. Once in a blue moon, it will deliver loaded/pull empty anhydrous ammonia tank cars at Akron Services' grain elevator just south of the BNSF underpass/connection near Edelstein.
DeleteUnion Pacific has access to all industries on ADM's River Track - Archer Daniels Midland Co. feed loadout (switched for UP by TZPR), ADM Grain Co. (which has sent unit DDGS trains out on UP on occasion and received occasional UP grain trains), Peoria Barge Terminal, Interstate Asphalt Corp's Peoria River Terminal and Seneca Petroleum Co. (asphalt terminal opened rail facilities in late 2011 or early 2012) though it doesn't serve them at present.
How about what Google Earth calls "Mosaic Crop Nutrition" south of Edwards Station?

The Tazewell & Peoria Railroad serves that facility. Track was laid, partially on former P&PU (nee PP&J) trackage in 1967, to reach a new customer, Cargo Carriers Inc., now Mosaic Corp Nutrition. The old line to Hollis had been abandoned south of Allied Mills (Bartonville) in 1952, so P&PU built a connection to parallel C&NW and obtained three miles of trackage rights to reach its new customer.
