The PJStar Reports Charlotte Flight Upgauge
This blog reported the story on October 29; Peoria's newspaper of record reported it November 9.
Better late than never, I guess.
Friday evening, the Peoria Journal Star posted this story on American Eagle's plan to upgauge to larger aircraft on its daily nonstops to American Airlines' Charlotte hub. While there is nothing new in the article, the writer managed to bungle one fact:
The three daily flights operated by American Airlines affiliates...
American Eagle operates two daily flights (roundtrips, actually) between Peoria and Charlotte.

According to flightaware the CLT-PIA-CLT overnight as seen the CRJ-200 subbed with a CRJ-700 and CRJ-900 for the past two nights
ReplyDeleteI wonder if these are test runs or due to mechanical issues?
DeleteAirlines dont do test runs..most likely either a mechanical on the CRJ or if the ORD flight was cancelled they had a bunch of passengers to reaccomodate and couldnt on the CRJ to CLT, so to protect the passengers, they upgauged CLT.
ReplyDeleteThat would make sense.
DeleteTo clarify, I meant "test runs" in the sense of breaking in certain aircraft on regularly scheduled flights.
DeleteRandom thought as I read the line you often write (newspaper of record...better late than never). Have you ever thought about approaching them as a freelance transportation journalist? Then you'd make a little $ and they'd get transportation news published in a timely fashion?
ReplyDeleteHi Samer,
DeleteThe thought has crossed my mind. I should look into it.
