Union Pacific MPECL 2-1-22

Ahead of the winter storm, I decided to check on Union Pacific train MPECL (Manifest, Peoria IL to Clinton IA). When I arrived, the crew was kicking out several cars (including two wire rod loads), apparently to reduce tonnage.

UP 5394 has 50 cars, including a Caterpillar D10T tractor load (7th car) and two empty depressed center flats. Despite reducing the train prior to departure, slick rails caused it to stall at Reservoir Blvd. So I'm glad I shot video as it passed the old Molitor Junction area just south of Harman Highway.
