PIA Control Tower Project Set to Begin Soon

The Peoria International Airport's 65-year-old control tower is finally being replaced

The Metropolitan Airport Authority of Peoria met Wednesday to discuss bidding for the planned replacement. An earlier bid exceeded funds available for the project so last night's meeting to modify construction bids into two phases.

Construction of the new control tower was enabled by a $14 million grant received in 2023.
